found the piper but lost the rat
In declaring Wednesday a day of prayer in the state of Louisiana, Blanco asked residents to ask "that God give us all the physical and spiritual strength to work through this crisis and rebuild." (CNN)

Under the midnight moon where the hearts will glow
I've been a bit absent lately.
In the last two weeks, my average days consists of getting up somewhere between one and three, moving to the couch, and sitting on my computer for a couple hours. Then I go buy some vegetables or a loaf of bread. Either that or I was entertaining our greek guest, which meant music was playing on my computer. Its the first time in years I've been able to lounge without a second thought, so while I'm starting to become bored, its been nice. The lack of funds in my pocket book also helps my vegitative life. In any case, I'm currently looking at new apartments and may have one locked up after tonight. There's a pretty good one on a top floor with a porch about 30 yards wide and a hot judge's daughter below on the first floor. Delectable.
Many of the trainees have left and it is down to only the hard cores. This is when the real party begins. Reflections later. I still haven't made it to fast internet, the cafe is kind of expensive and the trainees with fast internet are across town. The metro tends to smell kind of bad.
The highlight of the past weeks was receiving my care package from the LC. All that matters now is that I have that hot chilli sauce from back home. My roommates will realize the intensity of this awesomeness. It's... ORGASMIC. That was for dramatic effect.

Our feet will leave the ground
As you remember, something big is at our fingertips. The Unwed Convention, or however we shall deem it. Jenna has paved the way as the first confirmed attendant, thus at the least it will be her and me rolling into the new year in the sand. The Doctor and The Lawyer are close seconds, waiting for the right ticket price to pop its head out and show itself. In some sick twist of fate, it seems Aussies are everywhere, so these may attend. I'm sick of linking, but St. Cloud should be showing its O face as well. That's not a bad crowd, but let us not forget the host of other trainees and AIESECers who will succomb to my sweet charismatic puppy eyes.
The official dates of our Unwed Convention are Dec 28 - Jan 2. There will be auxillary events before and after the official dates, but I plan to leave Egypt around Jan 6 for Europe, so after that you will be sans your host, but not without other portals of awesomeness. You could also join that leg of the race. It's already being considered.
Will there be any sightings?

You can't keep a a cat from the mice
It was only a matter of time before we returned to the throne. As you will notice, a bunch of the pussies from last year no longer sit on the list, but we again reign king.
We said our good byes and eased it with jokes of the Porridge Family and machines taking quarters. It was the last bit of news I gave upon departure.
Next!

Not yet golden at the break of light
We watch as the lights turn to blocks turn to streets turn to memories.
Someone's head bobs, another mumbles the words to a song.
From here we will part ways.
From here it will begin.

news back home
So, Zeus was angry the other day. Turns out there were about 20 tornados around the southern part of Wisconsin. But my people are resilient:

yassu malaka
That is Greek for "hello asshole" I think.
Looking at these SSC pictures is killing me. It's the first conference of any kind I've missed since I joined. And I will not be at WSC, but trust me, the return will be triumphant.
I have been laying around my house most of the past few days, entertaining my greek roommate's greek friend. On the plus side, I now understand much more about Greek women.
I still need to get to that fast internet and get these pictures up. Turkey also deserves a thorough review.

Let's get one step closer to our maker
Consider this the official invitation to nomadfest: egypt
Where will you be celebrating the sweet revelry of entering the glorious year of 2006? Come play where the sun can beam on our shining faces as we split our time diving in the pristine waters of the Sinai peninsula and taking unhealthy pulls of whatever shisha flavor suits our unending fancy. Need I mention the copious amounts of Egyptian spirits here-to-fore never consumed by such a rowdy band of vagabonds?
A rough agenda will go as follows
Wed December 28 - Official commencement of nomadfest: egypt. We leave for Dahab around 8pm from Cairo.
Thurs December 29 - Arrive in Dahab early in the a.m. Set up camp and begin soaking rays, diving. Continue laughing.
Fri December 30 - Continue laughing in Dahab.
Sat December 31 - Start drinking. Leave Dahab in a.m. Arrive in Sharm el Sheikh in early p.m. Continue drinking.
Sun January 1 - Sleep, eat. Drink? Leave Sharm in p.m.
Mon January 2 - arrive in Cairo in a.m. Closing ceremony. Disperse
I will be in Egypt several days before and after the gathering, making sure reception runs smoothly and not too many flights are missed. Consider the agenda a work in progress and up for much deliberation. Those unemployed are welcome to venture into Europe on ~Jan 5 for a few days of debauchery with me if so inclined.
Pictures up as soon as I get me hands on some fast internets.

Release the birds
Fuck that shit, let's blow this popcorn stand. The road that awaits promises treasure. It's time to get me a taste of that loving cup.
Dancing cooler than the girls in the night
My feet move a little bit swifter today, they dance a like a feather on the pavement as I make my way to work. I feel like dancing, moving chaotically like the plastic bag blowing in the turbulence of the wind. My shoulders are held higher and eyes can't quite focus on the present... they are set on the not so distant future. It's easier to smile and accute details fall onto me with more ease than the rock formations exploding over the sandy sea of the western desert. I'm not looking back I just want to look around me now. My heart is starting to pound like the drums with marshall beats.
With not a care I plan my next adventure, I'll make all you bitches' proud. All in due time, but it seems like destiny. Drake's aura was too Kalifornia too show up in the photos I tried taking of him. I'll get one eventually. This one gives me hope.
It's my last day on the job. Does anyone ever do anything on their last day of work?
I think I'll make some tea. Wait, nah, how 'bout a nice malt liquor 40?
Ready?
